This month, Krill wrapped up two of their major projects at John Carroll University, just in time for classes to start this week. Dolan Residence Hall and Schott Dining Halls are now occupied by JCU students and faculty. Dolan Hall renovations started in spring of 2021 and wrapped up just in time for students to move in last week. Similar construction is taking place at Pacelli Residence Hall on the JCU campus which will be completed prior to the fall semester in 2023.
While the work at Dolan took place over a year, the schedule for construction was far more demanding and rigorous at Schott. The construction timeline at the dining hall took place over 12 weeks in fast paced summer schedule. With a project that is this demanding it was imperative to plan ahead and be prepared for any obstacle, this required all hands to be on deck for this project. The Krill team had to be diligent and through to keep on schedule. Project managers Chris Gadd and Mike Glatz and Field Superintendent Adam Fortunato were up for the challenge and managed to get the renovation done on schedule.
On the last day of the semester in May, students had their final meal at the dining hall and abatement and demolition began that very day. To ensure the project could stay on its strict deadline, appliances, and many other necessary materials were ordered in advance to make sure Schott would be ready for students return to campus in August.
This project consisted of all new kitchen equipment being added to the space as well as new flooring and painting. The new space is equipped with a fireplace, lounge space and other modern features to service the faculty and students of John Carroll.
Great work to the building team, the space looks great!
